Grand River ravine lots, mature Brant Avenue canopy — and Brantford's newer private tree by-law explained.
Brantford is a mid-sized Grand River city with three distinct kinds of tree work. The older streets — Brant Avenue, Henderson Survey, Holmedale, Terrace Hill — carry mature maples and walnuts on lots barely wide enough for a driveway. The post-war suburbs are full of silver maples planted in the 1960s that have now outgrown their yards. And the Grand River ravines threading through the city hold big cottonwood and willow on slopes nothing can drive onto. Brantford also updated its private tree rules in 2024, which most homeowners still have not heard about.
The Grand River ravine lots in Brantford are steep enough that equipment stays on the street and everything is climbed and lowered. Eagle Place, Henderson Survey and Holmedale have mature trees in narrow rear yards, frequently with overhead service wires crossing the drop zone — that means sectioning and rigging with the utility clearance planned in advance. We assess every Brantford job on site before we price it.

Neighbourhoods we serve: Brant Avenue, Eagle Place, Henderson Survey, Holmedale, Terrace Hill, North Ward, West Brant, Mayfair, Echo Place, Lynden Hills, Grand River corridor
