"From the start Jamie made a good impression. This tree removal was a dangerous job but Jamie and Saff took it down safely and efficiently with zero damage to my or my neighbour's property."
Galt's limestone heritage core, Preston and Hespeler river lots — and Cambridge's private tree permit explained.
Cambridge is three historic mill towns — Galt, Preston and Hespeler — joined where the Speed River meets the Grand. Galt in particular has some of the finest mature urban canopy in southwestern Ontario, with century trees on streets laid out in the 1850s and limestone buildings that leave no margin for error when a limb comes down. River valley properties in all three communities add slope and restricted access. Cambridge also brought in a new private tree by-law in 2023, so a permit conversation now comes before the quote.
Galt's heritage core is the hard part: narrow streets, no rear lane on many blocks, and big old trees growing tight against limestone buildings where a dropped section would do serious damage. Ravine lots fall away to the Grand. Preston and Hespeler bring similar Speed River slopes. Everything in the heritage core comes down on ropes in controlled sections, with the drop zone protected before we start.

Neighbourhoods we serve: Galt heritage core, Preston, Hespeler, Blair, Blackbridge, Shades Mills, Clyde, Forbes Park, Queenston Road, Grand and Speed river corridors
