"Jamie was in the area dealing with stump grinding at a neighbour and noticed we had just had a tree taken down. Very efficient, polite and had all the required safety gear. Highly recommend."

A 35-inch rubber-tire grinder that fits through your gate — ground a foot below grade, lawn left intact.
Most Hamilton backyards are reached through a single gate down the side of the house, which is exactly why so many stumps sit in this city for years after the tree came down. Our grinder is 35 inches wide and runs on rubber tires: it goes through a standard gate, crosses the lawn without tearing it, and gets to stumps that a tracked machine simply cannot reach.
We grind a foot or more below grade and take out surface roots as well, so the area can be levelled, seeded, sodded or planted straight after. Any size stump, any surface root — including the enormous silver maple and Norway maple stumps common across the Mountain and lower city.
Grinding is available as part of a removal or as a standalone job on a stump someone else left behind.
Access is the whole problem in Hamilton. Lower-city lots in Crown Point, Stipley, Westdale and Kirkendall have narrow side passages, laneway garages and fenced rear yards. Mountain subdivisions have wide lots but delicate irrigated lawns and interlock that cannot take a tracked machine. Our rubber-tire grinder solves both.
The second issue is what is under the stump. Older Hamilton properties have shallow services, old clay tile, buried footings and stone. We locate and work around them rather than through them.
Jamie visits your Hamilton property personally, assesses the tree and the access, and answers the permit question before anything is booked.
A clear, itemized price with no pressure and no obligation — what you are quoted is what you pay.
Drop zones, rigging points and surface protection are planned before the first cut. Emergencies are prioritized ahead of scheduled work.
ISA certified, fully insured, WSIB compliant crew — sectional dismantling and controlled lowering where the site demands it.
Debris removed, surfaces swept and the site left as we found it. Stump grinding available at the same visit.

No. The machine runs on rubber tires, not tracks, and at 35 inches wide it fits through a standard gate. That combination is the reason we can grind backyard stumps without leaving ruts across the lawn.
A foot or more below ground level, plus surface roots, so the area can be levelled and seeded, sodded or planted afterwards.
We can. Many customers keep the mulch to backfill the hole; if you would rather it was gone, tell us at the estimate and we will price the haul-away.
Yes — standalone stump grinding is a large part of what we do in Hamilton, including old, weathered stumps and stumps that have started to regrow.
No. Grinding an existing stump is not tree removal, so tree by-law permits do not apply. If the tree is still standing, see our Hamilton tree removal page for the permit position.
